We've used Word Wasp in Year 5/6 with a bright child who really struggled
with spelling. He did it at home with parents - we were all thrilled with
the progress he made (roughly 2 years' spelling age progress in 6 months, if
you set store by such things! It also improved his confidence). Word Wasp is
suitable for older children and up to adults. We're a primary and tend to
use the Hornet programme instead. Any parents/TAs who use it (1:1 and
regularly) with children are very impressed. If I could I'd do it with all
children!

Subject: [Senco-forum] word wasp??
Dear All,
Has anyone any experience of using this programme?
I know 'Toe - by Toe' by Keda Cowling and use that with pupils - I know this
isn't by her and have seen it but haven't used it. A private tutor and
psychologist have recommended it for a pupil and I wondered what people
thought?
Thanks - in anticipation...
Janet
